The Trump admin pressured multiple countries to withdraw their sponsorship of a leading European disinformation conference, with Canada, Lithuania and the EU’s diplomatic service agreeing to do so, the Guardian has learned
Spent a large portion of today trying to get this—so, fair play—during which Lithuania's Foreign Ministry and others ignored all questions about possible US interference. Instead they went for statements saying parts of the conference "differ from the official" government position 🤔
"The document says Washington was “grateful” Lithuania supposedly found a panel framing the US as a foreign information threat “reprehensible and surprising” and welcomed its decision to limit involvement in the conference."
