there's little behaviors and thought patterns that i actively try to recognize are a symptom of my past baggage, but that baggage doesn't have to define me. i'm not always perfect at it, but it's like exercising a wound: i just try again. we are all but constant prototypes of our future selves 🧡

it's taking time to put into practice, but i've had to unlearn the idea of more intention coming from people's words than what they say. surviving abuse, it's tough to hear "oh, ok" and "fine" without internally flinching. but not actively trying to work with my brain would make me stay miserable!

we need animal friends in sci fi to be canon and on screen!! there's a shape shifting alien in Doctor Who comics named Frobisher that just decided he likes being a penguin full time, and in fact gets euphoria from eating fish and being around other penguins. how i love him. 🧡

christ 😨 TMI: when i was a teen who didn't understand my transness yet, "Mikey Begins" weirdly helped me question inwardly outside of the porn itself. didn't know his presence outside of that comic until later. insane how somebody can fetishize the people they hate and not see their own reflection

but yeah, this is VERY "click". guy automated through his life without realizing that the mundane parts of his life are actually the most meaningful. Just because you *can* click fast forward (automating parenthood) doesn't mean you *should*.

if there's anything that's the least grueling part of parenting, i would think it's spending time with your kids? when i was teaching; the coolest part was sharing experiences that i *also* had as a kid with the next generation, playing games or reading books. why would you want to automate that?
