I never need a reason to follow a new @jennschiffer.com joint, these are very good reasons nonetheless
We're here for you, Charles! The hardest part for me, conceptually, has been unlearning two decades of the centralized web and going waaaay back to the ideals of the early web.
This is what I’m saying: AT Protocol isn’t a product feature. It’s a path for developers to promise credibly not to screw over their users.
This is part of something we're working on figuring out to make the app more Atmospheric.
Our sign-off for this one has been called "unhinged" but the only way for you to know is to listen to the full episode yourself. Are you up for it?
That's right.
I love this new feature we built for Roundabout. Our community members needed a way to message each-other with personal information, but no-one needed a new way for someone to slide into their DMs, or a new inbox to check.
As with all things atproto, there are a few layers — is it the APIs themselves? The docs? Some of the headier concepts?
Harsh, but fair
Time to make myself irrationally angry about the Jake Coolidge BART map again
Good oatmeal today!
Proud to be in the trenches with you, Bryan
If you're not tuning in for the livestreams (on @stream.place of course) you really are missing out
Sadly, and this pains me personally every day, messaging like control of the algorithm and owning your data just doesn't land, even with folks that are receptive to it. We've got some product work that I am very excited about that will start to bring in more of the Atmosphere to the app.
As someone who's followed your work for a long time, I can't believe you actually think this, right? This is a bit? Like, come on man you're not some drive by rando, you know how software development works.
"Good people slogging along together" same as it ever was, more important than ever
Let’s go!
✊🏼
That’s what I’m talking about
Yeah. Some of those were the wrong bets and some just need some attention from a small team with a long priority list. What do you think we can do to make those easier?
