Just that one-night stand, John!
I think it's just nonsense. My dad was a big Goons and Python fan. I've tried to Google it and found nothing, so it's even possible he just made it up himself.
Ha, sorry - just realised what I've done! I thought you were asking about Eloisa Shufflebottom...
Was he right?
I've genuinely no idea. I've tried to google it before and found nothing. He was in the RAF in the 1950s and it sounds like it MIGHT be forces nonsense, but it's also entirely possible my dad made it up himself. He was a big Goons and Python fan.
My dad would time his weeknight baths to coincide with either Doctor Who or Top of the Pops, but always made sure he came down in time to catch the last five minutes so he could say "Bloody hell, is this STILL on?"
I'm so glad I grew up in an era when I could only watch whatever was on the telly in the front room, with my parents chipping in to explain anything I didn't understand. Instant general knowledge.
When I was little, my dad used to sing this rhyme to me: "My aunt's name is Eloisa Shufflebottom She lives down in Burton-on-Trent And every time that she rides a bicycle She always gets the handlebars bent" I might sing it onstage at this show. I've never been to Burton before.
It's the middle of October. You can all stop strimming now. Please.
Bah! We'll be back.
Three weeks to go, and only 17 tickets left for this...
Fresh on the Haunted Generation website... my
@electronicsound.bsky.social chat with @themoonlandingz.bsky.social. Dean Honer, Adrian Flanagan and Lias Saoudi on pterodactyls in the garden, giant red triangles, Iggy Pop singing about bike accidents, etc...

I intend to spend the 2050s watching old Top of the Pops on a loop, listening to the White Album every day and drinking buckets of red wine. No change there then, etc
It's fabulous. I raced through the lot in about a month.
I've never had a mission and I'm rarely in control of anything.
A mere month until the Switched On electronic weekender in Whitby... now a lovely fixture in my calendar every year. Great line-up, nice vibes. And I'm all about the vibes. I'm hosting again, but don't let that put you off.
With @bibilynch.bsky.social on Playbus, @regretteruane.bsky.social on Bric-A-Brac, @real-meaning.bsky.social on Press Gang, @iheartbigface.bsky.social on Ulysses 31 and @bobfischer.bsky.social on The Owl Service.
THREE WEEKS TODAY! The Scarred For Life Folk Horror show will be at Brewhouse Arts Centre, Burton! Me and @bobfischer.bsky.social will be looking at The Wicker Man, Children of the Stones, Play for Today, K-9 and Company, and, ooh, loads more besides. Loads!
