Gotta give the geese some oats once in a while to balance out all the bread and doritos and god know what else people keep feeding them.

Hobbyist photographer and birdwatcher in WI. Besides birds, I mainly focus on macro photography of bugs and plants I find on my walks. I'm no expert and will probably get some IDs wrong. All photos are my own, and I will never post AI generated images.

When you get right down to it, the law isn't real and all governments operate on the honor system. We're the only real guardrails, and we're all still too comfortable and afraid to be that. When bad people in power know the populace won't physically stop them, they can do whatever they want.
I never noticed before that she has exactly the same haircut as Wolverine.
This guy always sounds like he's at least halfway through a 6-pack, but somehow I think it makes me like him more?
He even got the release date wrong. Surely it's only been a couple of years that I've been meaning to watch this very recent movie, not 8?

Can we not do this 80 degree shit in mid-October please?
Another reminder that "states' rights" republicans only exist when states want to hurt people. Hendricks and the Uihleins need to be run out of WI, and we need donation limits back along with a ban on donations from out of state. I don't like seeing Pritzker on this list, even if he's half decent.
Too scary for me
Nope, the steelhead, salmon, and lake brown trout are all squeezed and stocked, as far as I know. The Root River steelhead facility here in Racine is still being operated, at the very least.
The really frustrating thing is that no one acknowledges that they're invasive here because, aside from all the money they rake in, they don't reproduce naturally. The thing is, natural reproduction is unnecessary when they've got a bunch of big hairless apes helping them get around the problem.
I sure do love having our already extremely low quality river clogged up with dead, rotting, invasive salmon every spring and fall because the WI DNR refuses to stop stocking them in Lake Michigan, since they bring in $$$ from fisherman who aren't satisfied with all our native game fish.

Oh god, I'm so sorry. I used this stuff to make some nachos a couple weeks ago because ground beef is so insanely expensive. Aside from not being good, it somehow goes from very hot to very cold the instant it's removed from the pan.
That's disgusting, lettuce doesn't belong anywhere near a taco
What lurks beneath the leaf?
It's an eastern kingbird, and that crest is normally hidden under the gray feathers. They display it when they're agitated. This was taken just after it attacked and chased off another bird that was harrassing one of its fledglings.
This kingbird would like to have a word with you and your osprey
Caught a Kingfisher sitting on one of the skeletons at our dock.
