#LookingDown is the #BirdoftheDay theme, with an alt of #LookingUp. Terns are a good subject for looking down as they soar over the Bay and Harbour - an🪶 Elegant Tern looking down on the turn as it spies food. They have been very vocal this year and sure I've seen more than last year. #Birds #eck

A Black-throated Blue Warbler male is angled head down, tail up, with his back to the viewer, on a thin branch right before he takes off. He is dark blue from top of head to tail, with a black face, eye, and bill, and small white patches on either side of the wings. Slight slivers of white can also be seen on each side of his tail. The background is varying shades of rich greens, and there are some brighter green maidenhair fern fronds in the foreground to the lower left in this horizontal frame.
