Alan decided today's #BirdOfTheDay theme is #AngryBirds, any bird with an angry face. I don't know who spit in her nectar, but this Broad-tailed hummingbird is the angriest bird I've ever photographed. #BirdsOfFrontRange 🌿I stayed out of the garden after this, for fear of reprisals.

New tenants moved in. Squirrel's had his eye on this property for a long time -- earlier this year it tried to evict the flickers, but they raised one chick successfully.
But now, it belongs to the squirrel. Bwhahah!

Black-billed Magpie is a two-fer!

A black bird with a very long tail perches on the ground, with dried grass in its beak. It is all black except for its white belly and sides and white epaulette, but the black on its wings has an iridescent blue sheen to it.

I'm always surprised at how borb-y hummingbirds can get when their tummies are full of nectar.

A female hummingbird hovers with her wings outstreteched behind her above a stem of red yucca flowers and green yucca fruits. She has an iridescent green back and head, with iridescent green flecks on her throat. her sides are rufous and her belly is white. Her belly is also very round, full of energy rich nectar.

A hummingbird hovers above a cluster of delicate pink and white flowers. Her beak is in the flowers and her wings are stretched above her. Although she is withing millimeters of the rest of the plant, no other part of her body is touching it.
