It is a Wow moth. A big splash of colour in what was quite a drab brown and grey selection in the trap
I have only noticed the sad monster face - head on as well

This is following on from a hot and dry August (56mm) and July (1.5mm)
Water levels across the Romney Marsh/Dungeness are very low at present

Cypress Carpet was new for the year and now taking pics of a Pale-backed Detritus Moth (Monopis crocicapitella) - which about sums it up perfectly…

However a population in a partial shady scrub patch has responded well to management last winter
It also has had a 2nd flush after late summer rain
