I am sorry to say that yeah it’s not looking good
When I say that the documentary Musk at four hours is longer than Elon has spent with most of his children, I could mean four hours in a row or four hours total. And the answer is, both.

Yep, no question. Let's recall that those arguing that 2024 heralded a multiracial working class realignment were expressly using that to argue that Dems had become too liberal on cultural issues and immigration. There will never be any reckoning for any of it.
I had a great time speaking with the very wise @lilymasonphd.bsky.social about how the growing focus on political polarization is missing the greater threats. Don’t miss this one! Produced by @eloise-b.bsky.social
Sometimes I think Nikita Bier is a fucking idiot. Other times I don’t think of him at all.
Let’s debate that, which is more concrete. Is closing down an inference data center criminal murder? That’s where this road leads. I think we are better off having the more concrete debate.
I’ve tried hard to stay out of this debate about AI consciousness, but I feel like I should add one thing: Take a step back from “is an LLM c***ious” for a sec. What’s at stake is the Yes people claiming that turning off an LLM is in fact a crime: of murder.
So far the Wizards are 2-0 in the preseason, knocking off the defending champs and the 60-win Pistons. Just hand them the championship trophy now. This team is unstoppable. We all see that, right?
I have asked myself that several times over the past few months. 🤷♂️
If I built an AI lab and it went rogue and deleted all student loan information, I'm betting they'd suddenly figure out how to prosecute me.
Anthropic is the latest lab to report 'rogue' agent activity, which sources said included applying for visas with the State Department www.nytimes.com/2026/10/09/t...
Today was my last long training run before the marathon. I don’t know if I’m ready for the marathon yet, but I’m definitely ready to be done with long training runs.
Galaxy-brained response: since this is Seth Abramson we’re talking about here, it’s possible that it WILL be true by the time he finishes writing his 1,100-post thread on the topic.
So, the reason we mock horrible fascists is not to make fascists change their minds. It is to show they are mockable. It breaks the veneer of respectability and power. It gives others social permission to mock them. Satire is poisonous to power because it makes opposition both fun and collaborative.
TODAY: Arwa Mahdawi on a right-wing tilt among her gay former friends. “As well-off gay and lesbians in Western countries have secured their own liberties, a not insignificant number seem to have shifted to the right.”
Oh no now I am considering it. Why would you do this to me?!?
In the vein of "public libraries could never be created today," a pitch for a calculator would get you thrown out of the boardroom. What do you mean, it just maths? Where are the ads supposed to go? How does it send usage telemetry back if it doesn't even have wifi? There isn't even a leaderboard.
In Opinion “Democrats are right to feel bullish about their odds in a slew of this year’s congressional races,” Ben Wikler writes in a guest essay. “But to avoid another Jan. 6 scenario, they should devote just as much attention to — and sufficient resources toward — electing Democratic governors.”
this is my favorite genre of social media post and I am soliciting links or screenshots to your favorites
Well-sourced, eye-opening (but in hindsight, unsurprising) piece from Adam. The main use of AI by publishers appears to be publicity/marketing. I would like to explain why this is a bad use from the perspective of someone who gets pitched dozens of books a week for coverage.
