#xivwomenweek | #gposers | #wyrafic - Day 1 / 1.0

It is easy to try and flee the past, and more difficult to face it: Y'shtola and Minfilia make one final plea to whatever is left of Wyra's good nature.

"What do you wish out of this exchange, Wyra? An admittance of a guilty conscience?"

Infuriatingly, Wyra shrugs. "Dunno. Seems like your new little organization is one enough, isn't it? Gotta fix the panic from a world you couldn't save." He swirls his glass of rum in his hand.

"And that is what you're doing," the words in her mouth are dry and scathing, "saving it?"

The grin on Wyra's face is foreign and unsuited for her. "Oh, I have no pretenses of bein' anyone's hero."

The letter that Y'shtola held onto felt hot in her pocket, fury bubbling and threatening to move from being a stone in her stomach and throat. Against her better judgment, she removes it from her pocket and slams it back down on the table in front of him, as if to now prove a point.

Maybe this was her last hope.Y'shtola stands with her arms crossed as Wyra lounges smugly on a couch behind her just ever so slightly out of focus, surrounded by two red-headed women and one brunette. Y'shtola appears annoyed with whatever Wyra is saying.Minfilia smiles slightly to herself as she looks over a wax seal on a letter at her desk in the Waking Sands, slightly illuminated by candlelight.Wyra sits with her head in her hand as she slumps over in her chair in her Captain's Quarters, tired of the decisions she has made, and worried she will regret the one she will.

#ffxivwrite #ffxivwrite2026 #wyrafic #djeahfic Day 7 - Ignorance is Bliss

A'toba has a very normal "boy of nine summers" day during a very not normal time, and A'djeah is confronted with her worst nightmare.

777 words. Set during 6.0. Rated G.

ellipsus.com/read/1ojG6AL...

A'toba throws on his coat and hops into his boots with each double step he takes down the stairs, not wanting to miss whatever excitement was happening in the harbor. "Mum! Father! There's a pirate ship in the harbor!"

His mother looks like she may be having some sort of headache, as her head is in her hand and she looks exhausted, despite the day barely starting. "So it would seem," she says before taking a long sip of her coffee. A'toba and his neighbor, the mischievous miqo'te (J'eluarah because I had to name her) racing down to the Old Sharlayan harbor.

#ffxivwrite #ffxivwrite2026 #wyrafic Day 4 - Surge

Acceptance does not mean forgiveness, and it is a generational struggle. Wyra confronts Ritre about her childhood.

1.4k words, set during 7.0. Rated G.

Content warnings for: childhood neglect.

"You should come back to the party."

His father's rough and distinct accent cuts through the whistling of the Shaaloani wind. Ritre is no longer the one who sounds out of place— she does. Wyra gives him a placid look as she turns to focus on the rows of tombstones in front of her. Monuments to a legacy.

"Sorry, just needed a moment to myself."

Ritre sighs, never one to quite ever understand what bothers his daughter. Wyra knows he cannot pretend to understand what she goes through— as Warrior of Light, as a captain, as someone who dons both the moniker of woman and not— and so he doesn't try. Sometimes, she appreciates how candid he is in that regard. Other days, she wishes he did.Ritre (left, he/him) and Wyra (right, she/her and he/him) argue in front of gravestones.

#ffxivwrite #ffxivwrite2026 #wyrafic Day 3 - Echelon

Limsa Lominsa has never been kind to girls of fourteen summers. Or: how Wyra awakened to the Echo.

3.4k words, set prior to 1.0. Rated M.

Link and content warnings below!

The humid air feels heavy in her lungs and her ribs might burst from her chest. There is a sharp pain in her side but she has to keep running. If she doesn't, the men on guard duty will catch her. She is not quiet or elegant, and grit and grime is uncomfortable beneath her small claws, but Wyra manages to scramble up rock and rope into a loft unseen, above the room where her prize sits.

"Bring me the tablet that Captain Bikke an' his crew have in their possession, lass, an' you an' I can talk compensation. Savvy?" The gruff auburn haired miqo'te woman delicately caressed Wyra's cheek with the side of her finger, like Wyra figured a mother would have. "Can't just go givin' away food and shelter to those that don't earn their keep, aye?"A picture of a foggy day in Limsa Lominsa, with A'rlina petting the top of a young Wyra's head, while Wyra looks nervous and sad. There are text post memes overlaid on top of both of them because this is how I cope with how badly Wyra's gone through it, with humor.

The post on A'rlina reads: "a daughter is a kind of doll for mothers to impose their will upon"

The post on Wyra reads: "just found out my entire personality is a trauma response."
