Used my favorite chicken cutlets with apples recipe and used wild turkey instead. Cut up wild turkey breast and pounded the meat into cutlets. No pretty pictures of this turkey as it landed in the flooded field when I shot. Used wild apples from the farm too. #eatwild #wildfood

🫐 There’s something very satisfying about spotting clusters of dark, glossy elderberries in the hedgerows.

🍂 Autumn walks have a habit of taking a little longer when you start noticing what’s growing around you.

❤️ There’s something rather lovely about spotting a hedgerow full of bright red hawthorn berries.
Pop the kettle on and have a read 🌿

Foraging doesn't need a forest. Linden trees, dandelions, acorns & serviceberries grow right in your neighborhood. Learn to spot them. 🌿 #Foraging #UrbanForaging #WildFood #EdiblePlants

Perfect, glorious Hen of the Woods (Grifola frondosa) also known as Maitake (my-tah-key), a Japanese word meaning dancing mushroom (mai = dancing, take = mushroom). The individual lobes look similar to the traditional fans ladies would hold when dancing. #edible #wildfood #fungi

A multi lobed, pale brown and cream mushroom growing on the ground at the base of an oak tree. Looks similar to the fluffy rear end of a brown hen.

Lots of mushrooms popping up! From a weekend exploration at Brock Hill, things already looking promising for the warmer loving species! Excited for the best time of year ♥️ #september #mushroom #forager #wildfood #fungi
