Real men make misogynistic jokes. Real men hate their nagging wives. Real men calculate their chances to do sex. Real men abuse their significant others. Real men hurt their own children. Real men abuse women. Real men stalk women. Real men get enjoyment out of hurting women. Real men don’t call these things out when they see it. Real men smile sheepishly and go quiet. Real men take up skirt photos. Real men claim it’s just a prank. Real men invite other men to participate in rape. Real men do nothing or join in. Real men.

Real men are rarely the hero.

Women don’t want your “protection.” Women want men to actively participate in changing a system that validates real men hurting women.
