Body clear coat is curing... Shifting to the chassis & interior floor pan, custom-painted to match the two-tone black/candy purple exterior scheme!

4 layers of Gaia Notes EX-Clear (~2h flash time). Some orange peel & decal bumps, but wet-sanding after a 2-3 week cure will level it all.

EXクリアを2時間間隔で4層コート。少しゆず肌や段差がありますが、2〜3週間乾燥後のサンディングで平滑化します。焦らず熟成。

Masked & sprayed the gloss black top. Cut tape to ~0.6mm to trace the front curve. Used less thinner to prevent bleed. Some orange peel, but clears will level it.

ツートン上部の黒を塗装。Rに沿わせるためテープを約0.6mmに細切り、滲み防止でシンナー少なめ。少しゆず肌ですが、後のクリアで平滑化するので問題なし。

WIP VW Type 2 Van

Mr. Color SM201 Super Fine Silver 2 followed by 4 coats of GX107 Clear Purple + Leveling Thinner. Curing now before masking the top section!

下地にSM201スーパーファインシルバー2を吹き、GX107クリアパープルを4層重ねました。ツートンカラーの塗り分けに向けて、しばらくしっかり乾燥させます！

VW Type 2 layout update! 🖤✨

Sprayed GX Ueno Black, wet sanded & compound polished to a mirror shine before the silver coat. Slow work, but foundation is key!

How do you prep your candy bases?
