I learned how to cook with Crisco, as did my mom. It makes a fine pie crust and the best fried chicken.
I’m okay with these 1934 recipes, although “digestible cheese pastry” sounds a little off-putting. Nevertheless , I’d gladly eat all of these 🍽️

This is obviously an abomination, but I’m giving it double points because the recipe is not only awful (3/4 cup of lemon juice?!) it doesn’t exactly jive with the illustration.
That weird top that resembles a broken meringue is the mashed yolks/gelatin/mayo? Ick
