@o-hillmovienight.bsky.socialIn #TheMouseontheMoon We lose #PeterSellers 3Role performance and the #1stDoctorWho #WilliamHartnell but keep #BernardCribbons [ #DonnaNobel's #Grandfather #WifredMott] & several other denizens of the WhoVerse. 1963 was the hieght of the #SpaceRace #TheColonials
@o-hillmovienight.bsky.social#JohnCarpenter made his #FilmmakingDebut as an #IndependentFilmmaker in an era of Studio #Dominanceleading to such foibles as the Ilmannered #BeachballAlienPet on their mission to destroy unstable Planets threatening #Colonization #TheColonials #SmartBombs
@o-hillmovienight.bsky.socialOur next #Colonization is like the #LittleShadow under the bed that can suck you itno a month long #Halloween. On a #ColonyShip of 60,000 Awakening from #Hypersleep, 2 crewmen battleamnesia and possible #SpaceMadness known as #Pandorum #THeColonials [ #FullMovie]
@o-hillmovienight.bsky.social#BattlestarGalacticaTOG can be considered a dream that awoke to the realities of the #RebootMiniseries that included #BetterSpecialFX, a Story rooted in a viewable history & characters with human motivations on both sides of the conflict that almost destroyed the #12Colonies #TheColonials
@o-hillmovienight.bsky.socialLike #FirstContact below, #BattlestarGalacticaTheMiniseries is also a #Paramount+ property. The Miniseries #Rebooted #BattlestarGalactica with #deeperstory #DeeperCharacters and a #Cylon life form that has evolved since the #OriginalSeries #TheColonials
@o-hillmovienight.bsky.social#Between #StudioRelease #MoviePosters #AlternatePosters & #FanArt the #StarTrekFranchise has never had a problem filling out a #MoviePosterSet, except of course decidingwhich ones to include... [1] #BuzzingtheBorg [2] #TheLocutusHorde [3] #WormHoleHalo [4] Is that a #LightSabre? #TheColonials
@o-hillmovienight.bsky.socialBecause we included the Trailer in the #MovienightBonusFeature below, #Movienightdecided to include one of #PatrickStewart's defining moments whereLilly confronts his #Obsesseion #TheBorgSaga #TheColonials #AnchorPosition #StarTrekFirstContact
@o-hillmovienight.bsky.socialIt's been long enough since the last #StarTrekMovie that we can assume one is on the way. This #MovienightBonusFeature will catch you up on the franchise with one #MovieTrailer for each
#StarTrekMovie. #TheColonials
@o-hillmovienight.bsky.social#GoodMorningUVa & welcome to this week's #OfficialO-HillMovienight #MovieNominations for our #MovienightTheme #TheColonials. Yesterday we looked at #EarthboundColonization and the pressures that drive it. Today we explore our destiny in #SpaceColonization 5-4-3-2-1 #WhattheCatDid #OnWiththeShow
@o-hillmovienight.bsky.socialAnd that brings us Around the Bend to this this week's #MovienightIntermission for the #MovienightTheme #TheColonials we have shared 4 examples of #TerrestrialColonialism but tomorrow we will #ReachfortheStars in the mean time #ShakeYourGrooveThing foir #Therevolution
@o-hillmovienight.bsky.socialThe #AmericanRevolution is little different from other #ColonialRevolutions before or since. The Colonies wealth extracted for the elite of the #ParentCountry while the needs & #PleasofthePeople are ignored.
The only thing needed then is tinder & a Match. #TheColonials
@o-hillmovienight.bsky.social#Movienight was happy to see an expansion of the #MovieArt for this film, which has applications in and out of the Classroom.[2] Tip of the hat to #DorisPilkingtonNugiGarimara for recording these events in the hoep they will never be repeated #THeColonials
@o-hillmovienight.bsky.socialWhen #TheColonials meet the #IndigenousPeoples it rarely goes well for the latter & that's not limited to the the #WesternHemisphere. #RabbitProofFence is the #TrueStory of #FamilySeparation by the #AustralianGovernment taking mixed decent #Aborigines'Children away
@o-hillmovienight.bsky.social#Ka'iana is at the center of the events of #ChiefofWar and #JasonMamoa gives a powerful preformance through the complex politics. But the #RealKa'iana is just as interesting... #MovienightBonusFeature #TheColonials
@o-hillmovienight.bsky.social#Movienight loves when the #AnchorPosition features #WholeMovie. #Apocalypto #MelGibson #Directed #Coproduced [with #BruceDavey] & #Cowrote [with #IranianScreenwriterDirector #FarhadSafinia. The film shows the moment the #MezzoAmerican world met #TheColonials
@o-hillmovienight.bsky.social#GoodMorningUVa! And welcome to the #O-HillMovienightTheme reveal. Last week we got moving with our #AnimationSampler. THis week we examine the #InevitableExpansion of #HumanKind with #TheColonials THose brave & sometimes greedy souls who staked their claim to new lands #OnWiththeShow
