@jk4pghpa.bsky.socialHello Friends! This Movie is the best TNG Movie by Light Years. #StarTrekFirstContact #ImpromptuTheater
@joshuampatton.comIt's the 60th anniversary of #StarTrek, but it's also the 30th anniversary of #StarTrekFirstContact! It's my favorite of the #StarTrekTNG films, and Jonathan Frakes did an amazing job directing. But the story was almost totally different at first.
@contraryterry.bsky.socialIn closing, #StarTrekFirstContact is FAR from the best #StarTrek movie (though many disagree). That said, director #JonathanFrakes put out a GOOD action film - despite its overreliance on the kind of action scenes we already saw in episodes of #StarTrekTNG (albeit with a bigger budget). Ⓐ
@contraryterry.bsky.socialNow wait just a goddamn minute. #Cameron (who portrayed #EnsignKellogg) in #StarTrekFirstContact IS NOT in #Insurrection nor #Nemesis? THAT is a bloody disgrace, I say. She and #PattiYasutake (who portrayed #NurseOgawa) deserved better, I say. Ⓐ
@contraryterry.bsky.socialIn #StarTrekFirstContact, we see THE HOT #DeannaTroi get loaded with #ZeframCochran. After taking a swig of hard liquor, Cochran does something I’ve never done - he attempts to make armpit farts with only one arm. So THAT GUY is the legendary scientist that leads humanity into a better future? Ⓐ
@contraryterry.bsky.socialSpeaking of disgraces, #StarTrekFirstContact is the last time we get to see THE HOT #PattiYasutake (as #NurseOgawa) in the #StarTrek universe. They didn’t even bother giving her a cameo in #Nemesis! What an outrage. Ⓐ
@contraryterry.bsky.socialIt is also in #StarTrekFirstContact that we are introduced to the Enterprise-E - a disgrace of a spaceship. The thing is, the Enterprise-E is WAY LESS cool than the Enterprise-D. And as a Trekkie I DEMAND that any new Enterprise look cooler than the one it replaced. Oh well… Ⓐ
@contraryterry.bsky.socialRe-watched #StarTrekFirstContact, the movie that compares being assimilated by the #Borg to being raped. Even though #CaptainPicard was (briefly) assimilated years before this movie takes place - this is basically a (tame) #RapeAndRevenge film, as Picard gets his “revenge” on the Borg. Ⓐ
@joshuampatton.comIt's the 60th anniversary of #StarTrek, but also the 30th anniversary of #StarTrekFirstContact, which I am going to be celebrating over at CBR with a series of essays. This first one explains why the Borg were the perfect villains for #FirstContact.
@o-hillmovienight.bsky.socialBecause we included the Trailer in the #MovienightBonusFeature below, #Movienightdecided to include one of #PatrickStewart's defining moments whereLilly confronts his #Obsesseion #TheBorgSaga #TheColonials #AnchorPosition #StarTrekFirstContact

@paulguinnessy.bsky.socialWatching #StarTrekFirstContact and when it came out it was more or less unthinkable that there would be a World War Three mid-21st Century. Now, I’m not so sure.
@prataba.bsky.socialHow disappointing to learn that Patrick Stewart is a dick. 🤷♂️🙁
He tried to replace Moore and Braga with the script writer from Rush Hour! Glad he failed.
