I wanted to give this 2 stars because I found the audiobook excruciating, but those were problems with the narrator and not the book itself. The book is actually a pretty great YA adventure set in Africa. Just grab a hardback.

A really wonderfully told tale. It’s got a bit of everything: humor, intrigue, tragedy, love, redemption, and a few surprises that I didn’t guess. I thoroughly enjoyed it and can’t recommend it enough!

Fun mystery that kept me guessing for a lot of the book. Pippa's teenage logic, fearlessness & righteousness were very believable. Loved its clever plotting, well written ending, & great characterisation
