Book 41 of #The52BookClub #The52BookClub2026 "Abeni's Song"

I wanted to give this 2 stars because I found the audiobook excruciating, but those were problems with the narrator and not the book itself. The book is actually a pretty great YA adventure set in Africa. Just grab a hardback.

Book 40 of #The52BookClub #The52BookClub2026 "Nothing Lasts Forever"

Inspired by “The Towering Inferno” and turned into “Die Hard”. It didn’t age well. The writing is fine but some of the language, the male bravado, and the treatment of the female characters is so cringe.

Book 39 of #The52BookClub #The52BookClub2026 "Mad Mabel"

A really wonderfully told tale. It’s got a bit of everything: humor, intrigue, tragedy, love, redemption, and a few surprises that I didn’t guess. I thoroughly enjoyed it and can’t recommend it enough!

Book 38 of #The52BookClub #The52BookClub2026 "The Ghost Theatre"

Such a surprising book, I’m desperate to know how the author came up with such a unique premise and characters! Beautifully written historical fiction. Recommend particularly to those who were theatre kids.

Book 37 of #The52BookClub #The52BookClub2026 "The Space Between Worlds"

One of the best books that I have ever read! The world building is intriguing, the characters are complex… but the writing is the real star. It is a story DEFTLY told that is both immersive and engaging.

Book 36 of #The52BookClub #The52BookClub2026 "The Tapestry of Fate"

An excellent sequel! It had everything that I loved about the first book, in an entirely new adventure. If you’ve not read the Amina al Sirafi books, take this as your cue to add them to your TBR pile!
