Finally finished my last larger painting of the year (I think). It took ages, due to having a lot of boring house stuff to do. #SnakeAndDagger #StellanHolmgren #TobiasSmith #ArtYear #art #TraditionalArt #painting

A symbolist acrylic painting of two handsome men. The taller one has his arm draped over the other man's shoulder. The shorter man, Tobias Smith, has tight blond curls, and is surrounded by wheat and poppies. There is a lowly cottage in the background. The taller man, Stellan Holmgren, has sandy hair and a long face. There are Scottish thistles and delicate, tiny bell-like flowers (twin flower linnea) around him, representing both Sweden and Scotland. Behind him is the Scottish castle he lives in. Above their heads is a bought of ivy, denoting the loving, steadfast love they have for each other. There is a Maggie for Stellan the jewel merchant, and a Jay, the most colourful covid, for Tobias. In the centre is a dagger with a snake curled around the handle, for the Snake and Dagger organisation they belong to. They are dressed in Regency clothing. The background is gold.
