Meanwhile in 1984…
“Sorry for being weird. Actually, no. You being uncomfortable with it is not my problem. I'm having a great time.”

#selfportraiture and #mentalhealth - these are a few excerpts from an article I've been asked to write on the subject. I know the internet is dead and everyone is AI now, but if there are any #models or #photographers that want to talk about this, I'm gathering opinons!

Now they try to get me out of the street. But, in my heyday, it’s “get T. out of the bathroom. She’s probably taking selfies.”

Vertical mirror selfie in warm, theatrical light against deep red patterned wallpaper. The person's face, dark voluminous hair, and energetic, laughing grimace are softly out of focus, while the phone and hands at chest level anchor the lower center.

A close-up square crop focusing sharply on a person’s hands holding a black smartphone horizontally at chest level. The fingers and knuckles are in sharp relief, with only the laughing mouth and teeth visible above the phone against dark shadows and a glimpse of red wallpaper.

Returning to #selfportraiture after exploring other directions.
In this new series, the negative becomes a kind of mysterious event - the image less about appearance and more about #presence, absence, and the #space in between. #art #scifi

A small white frame hangs on a white wall tinted slightly pink from the left. Inside the frame is a vertical self-portrait of a person bending slightly forward toward the camera while wearing a stretched patterned thong-like garment pulled high on the body. Their face is partially obscured by fabric, with a bright red clown nose and clown-style makeup visible. The subject’s mouth is open, and the overall image mixes vulnerability, absurdity, and theatrical self-presentation.
