#RevolutionaryFrance was the first country in Western Europe to decriminalize #homosexual activities, in a revision of the penal code on #ThisDayInHistory in 1791. Other countries there, such as the UK, spent the 19th & 20th centuries making life for #queer Europeans much harder.
