🏁- Quite long, the spiciness lasts for some time. The palate notes largely continue, and I think it has rum type characteristics. Late on sweet tropical fruits push their way through. It comes across as higher than 40% ABV. #olddrams #westminstermistwhisky #80swhisky

👅- The palate is very different to the nose. I’m getting figs, prunes, raisins, golden syrup, with cardamom. The mouthfeel is oily, unexpected. This could easily contain sherry cask whisky, the dustiness feom the nose also comes through. #olddrams #westminstermistwhisky #80swhisky

👃- Initially I’m finding this fruity, with evergreen boughs, it’s also coming across as dusty. The fruits are a mix of red berries and tropical fruits. I’m also getting a cardboard kind of a note, and it’s becoming more wood intense. #olddrams #westminstermistwhisky #80swhisky

Thoughts - It’s a bit of a chameleon dram. It starts light and elegant, and develops into a spicier darker dram, not what I expected. I’m pleased I’ve got to try it, and would enjoy another. #olddrams #somethingspecialwhisky #70°proof

👅 - It’s quite light in style, the palate replicating the notes on the nose. It’s got a thicker mouthfeel than I expected. A white pepper spiciness does arrive, it’s also light in nature. More time and it’s leaning towards black tea and plasticine. #olddrams #somethingspecialwhisky #70°proof

👃 - Initially it’s very fruit forward, with peaches/nectarines, guava, and papaya, mixed with bubblegum. Light wood notes are here, leading towards pencil shavings, eventually the fruits change more towards red berries. Raspberry ripple ice cream #olddrams #somethingspecialwhisky #70%proof
