Fourth gear. The pace and atmosphere of the pack shifts. Faster. More vigilant. No longer a pack of horses travelling as comrades, but fleeing with the knowledge that only few will survive their culling.

The wind shoots between the cracks of my front bumper and grill and through the inlet of my helmet into the inner nerve. An easy distraction for the ways this body remains caged.
