Yesterday I had the A/C on and today a Winter Storm Warning for up to 20 inches of Snow ❄️ ☃️❄️⛄️

Sunrise lays soft bands of peach, amber, and pale gold beneath a wide sweep of blue-gray clouds. The sun remains hidden, its light tracing the lower cloud edges and spreading through openings of clear turquoise sky. Higher overhead, faint rose-colored patches warm the cloud cover, while the heavier layers retain the cool tones of early morning.

Below, a dense evergreen forest fills the hollow, every crown and tier of branches thickly laden with snow. The trees stand in deep blue shadow, their snowy outlines distinct against the brightening horizon. Close branches frame the view with great rounded pillows of snow; a few dark pine needles protrude beneath their weight.

The warmth is still gathered in the sky. Across the forest, snow holds the blue of the departing night, giving this winter sunrise its striking contrast

looking NE (l) and E (r) from 2050m. town is down in that gulch. more fall color in town since they are watered.

blight in Aspen and Cottonwood (l). these were wind-sheltered. Conifers generally are looking OK (r).

some color in shrubs, these peaked 2 weeks ago.
