I've uploaded the slides for my talk at #LinuxPlumbers on eBPF research: pchaigno.github.io/assets/Linux....
Up next at #LinuxPlumbers: tackling cyclic hardware dependencies in modern SoCs.
AngeloGioacchino Del Regno and Sebastian Reichel will look at dependencies between power domains, regulators, and buses, and how the kernel can handle them more cleanly at 15:10 UTC.
My colleague Alice Mikityanska presented her work on enabling BIG TCP for UDP tunnels at #LinuxPlumbers. She had to rework how BIG TCP works for IPv6 along the way, but we can now benefit from this in all Cilium setups!

It's Day 3 of Linux Plumbers and it's time to get updates on Tyr!
Join Daniel Almeida at 10:00 UTC as he dives into the latest upstream progress, Rust abstractions for GPU job submission, and what’s next on the road to mainline Linux.
We’re now half way through this year’s Linux Plumbers Conference in Prague, and it’s been a great time, with yesterday’s talks going well. If you’re around tomorrow, make sure to say hi before the conference is over! #LinuxPlumbers #LPC #LPC2026
At #LinuxPlumbers, Daniel describes what is missing to finish building this. The BPF signing process with the in-kernel loader is documented at www.kernel.org/doc/html/lat....
The eBPF JIT compilers run after verification and therefore need to stay simple. They're thus missing many optimizations (compared to LLVM backends) and hurting performance. At #LinuxPlumbers, Yusheng Zheng proposes to work around that with verified inline kfuncs.
At #LinuxPlumbers, @shunghsiyu.bsky.social had another great talk explaining how the eBPF verifier's value tracking evolved over time, including an explanation of the new cnum abstract domain!

KASAN instruments the kernel to surface out-of-bounds and use-after-free bugs to testing tools like syzkaller. BPF remained a blind spot however. At #LinuxPlumbers, Alexis Lothoré discusses his recent work to close this gap.

He found three concurrency bugs in the compiler backends, the JIT compilers, and the arena allocation. At #LinuxPlumbers.
With Rust kernel modules and soon BPF programs in Rust, BTF needs to support Rust constructs. Alan Maguire explains what's needed at #LinuxPlumbers.

At #LinuxPlumbers, Yonghong Song continues with the better Rust support topic, discussing his work to support 128-bit arguments and return values.

Alexei Starovoitov at #LinuxPlumbers: "If it passes the [Rust] compiler, the verifier has to accept it." Better support for Rust code is coming to BPF!

I'm currently on my way to #LinuxPlumberConference 2026 and #OpenSourceSummitEurope in #Prague
On Tuesday there is also #YoctoProjectDay, where I will hold a talk about OpenEmbedded for Tegra.
See you all there o/
Next week we'll be in Prague for a packed Open Source week! 🇨🇿
We’ll speak at the Linux Plumbers Conference and GStreamer Conference, and present two demos at the ELC Technical Showcase.
See you there! col.la/prague2026
Catch Andrew Lukoshko at Linux Plumbers next week if you want to chat all things AlmaLinux! https://lpc.events/ #LinuxPlumbers
