@mariposanature.bsky.socialThat's #Leptember over for another year. We'd like to celebrate not just butterflies, but the people who care so much about them - our guests, with whom we've enjoyed so many wonderful moments this past year. Here's just a tiny sample of the feedback they've shared with us.
@greenwingstours.bsky.socialSome larva love for #Leptember
@greenwingstours.bsky.socialSomething different for a #Leptember image today.
Can you name this European species?
@matthewberry.bsky.socialA good old-fashioned Old World Swallowtail (Papilio machaon) for a #Leptember post!
@greenwingstours.bsky.social🦋 For 19th of #Leptember, a beautiful Euphaedra janetta, photographed by Adrian Hoskins in Ghana.
📋 Euphaedra is a large and colourful genus of African butterflies in the family Nymphalidae, particularly associated with the forests and woodland habitats of tropical Africa.
@greenwingstours.bsky.socialHow about one of the worlds most iconic & beautiful butterflies for a #Leptember post today? The Rajah Brooke's Birdwing (Trogonoptera brookiana). This video was shot in Malaysia & we can't wait to go back there next year for more!
@greenwingstours.bsky.socialHere's a #leptember shot taken today in Bhutan, by our good friend Sonam. The stunning Bhutan Glory (Bhutanitis lidderdalii). Sonam actively monitors & researches these and lots of other wildlife & we're working on a second itinerary to complement our regular butterfly holiday - watch this space!
@matthewberry.bsky.socialA Swallowtail (Papilio machaon) for #Leptember
@nwisser.bsky.socialI saw an inchworm yesterday and I wish I knew how to find out what kind of moth it is. #Leptember
@greenwingstours.bsky.socialTwo years we launched #Leptember - a month long celebration of moths & butterflies. Watch out for daily uploads throughout September - and please share some of your own too! 🦋
Today is this unusual pic of a pair of Apollo butterflies, taken by @petereeles.bsky.social this June in Italy.
