I was in a meeting that was being transcribed by an AI speech transcriber. For some reason, it transcribed the verb "filter" with the extremely uncommon noun "philtre" (meaning a love potion). #homophones

Wounded Pride by Robert Emond

Vainglorious man desperate for acclaim
Spends life seeking self esteem from others.
Ere long, fatally wounded will be their pride.

Self worth shattered unable to be reclaimed.
Denied their hearts desire blame their mothers.
That the fault is theirs they can't abide.

Searching for meaning they hate what they became.
Life deemed pointless, they desire to see the world smothered.
If only they had humility they could take all in stride.
