My #GardenJournal2026 hasn’t been updated very well, but these marigolds have gotten so big they’re crowding out the bed!
I‘m pleased to learn these aren’t “African“ marigolds, but AZTEC marigolds (Tagetes erecta) native to Mexico, so I’ve been growing the authentic plant.

Behold! My beautiful pumpkin children!
The bugs killed the cucumbers, but the gourds are tougher, so I’m showing off my bounty in metal hanging baskets with the lining removed. I think I’ll buy a few that I particularly like the look of and save the seeds.

Okra #flowers are actually incredibly beautiful.
lol, the pumpkins have grown a bit!
I have come to the conclusion that powdery mildew is just an inevitability. I tried hosing and neem. #gardening #GardenJournal2026
Let’s just pretend that’s magical sugary snow on these pumpkin leaves.
The tomato harvest continues to be insane.
Ive made sauce and soup and tomato pie and quiche and salads and given multitudes to friends and family and
They. Just. Keep. Coming.
