Honey basically never spoils. Archaeologists have tasted 3,000-year-old honey found in Egyptian tombs and found it perfectly edible — low moisture and natural acidity make it an environment bacteria just can't survive in. #Science #FoodScience #DidYouKnow

Flambéing doesn't cook off the alcohol — the flame burns too fast and cool for that. What it actually does is caramelize sugars and throw off aromatic compounds on the surface. The rest is a century of tableside theater.

A 2011 mooncake from Malaysia's Old Factory is still soft 15 years later. It has sharp carvings and zero rot. Which is wild. Maybe it's a perfect vacuum seal. I get it. But I think something got lost. Was it the seal, the recipe, or a secret we can't replicate? #FoodScience #Malaysia #TimeCapsule

Flash a tomato, kill the lights. It glows back — faintly. Triglia et al. 1998 read ripeness from that afterglow. But it's delayed luminescence, not spontaneous UPE: it needs prior light. The biophysics? Still unknown. Anyone replicating this on fruit? #biophotonics #foodscience #Science
