It's time to slow down and admire some pretty things. Today: burnweed gone to seed
A magical moment on the Back Walk at Gowan Hill the week before—fireweed releasing clouds of soft, cottony seeds into the breeze. For a little while, it almost looked as though summer were sending its wishes into the air. 🌿☁️
Bloomed out fireweed. In Alaska we said this marks the end of summer. Sounds about right.

In late summer, this is one of my favorite plants to #photograph. Fields and forests in #norway are full of them.
Meet the Fireweed, nature's flex you never noticed
Fireweed is a common sight in disturbed areas and burns, often being one of the first plants to colonize after a wildfire, and its young shoots, leaves, and flowers are edible.
