Interior of the abandoned former Alitalia headquarters in the Magliana district of Rome, showing a long elevated corridor equipped with parallel moving walkways extending toward a distant vanishing point. The composition is strongly symmetrical, with the twin conveyor belts running through the center of the image and emphasizing the scale and linearity of the structure.
On the right, a curved wall of large panoramic windows forms a tunnel-like enclosure, flooding the corridor with bright natural light. On the left, a continuous row of rectangular windows runs the length of the passage. The ceiling is composed of exposed black metal beams and suspended fluorescent light fixtures, many still in place despite the building's abandonment.
The moving walkways are no longer operational and are littered with shattered glass, cables, and debris. Metal crossbars have been installed across the belts, while broken panels and exposed wiring reveal the progressive deterioration of the infrastructure. Cylindrical support columns punctuate the corridor at regular intervals, reinforcing the strong perspective effect.
The contrast between the modern architectural design, originally intended to manage large flows of passengers and staff, and its current state of abandonment creates a striking image of decay within a once-prominent corporate complex.
