Area 51 escapee detected. It hasn't moved in an hour. It’s just waiting for the perfect moment of human silence to activate its built-in tractor-beam siren. 🌿🪶🪳🍁🦉

Close-up profile of a Dog Day Cicada clinging to tree bark like a corporate worker holding onto their last shred of sanity on a Friday afternoon. The insect sports a heavily patterned green, black, and orange thorax, looking remarkably like a tiny 90s windbreaker jacket. It stares blankly into space with its large, dark, bulging eye, contemplating whether to scream for three hours straight or just two. Its clear, translucent wings are folded neatly down its back, masking its true identity as a nature-powered megaphone.

If you're cold, they're cold. Bring them inside. (Please do not bring them inside, they do not have a volume knob). 😂

Extreme close-up of a dog-day cicada doing its best tree-hugging impression. It’s rocking a flashy green, black, and gold patterned suit on its head and thorax, paired with a massive, soul-staring black eye. Its wings are completely clear but webbed with copper veins, extending way past its body. The background is a beautifully blurred, warm peach color, making this screaming tree-shrimp look majestic.

Being deaf means I get to enjoy his beautiful, intricate wings in absolute silence, while my neighbors are currently losing their minds. 😆

Truly the ultimate life hack. 🪰🪶🌿😏🤙🍁

A macro side-profile of a dog-day cicada on a tree right outside a window. With its massive bulging eyes and intricate clear wings, it looks exactly like a tiny, unhinged backyard dinosaur that showed up an hour ago specifically to ruin a work-from-home Zoom call with the song of its people.
