I am no animator, but if I was, I'd wanna animate this scene. As it is, I'll settle for making it a comic...thing! Maybe one day I'll get into animation 🤔🤔

1. "Don't your (opera) rules forbid women from entering backstage?"
2. "But An-mei, you're not a human."
3. "..."
4. "Hong-ge's attitude didn't actually soften that much after marriage, huh."

Draw the fic scenes you don't wanna write!

only halfway through this and i've already cried twice (AND I NEVER CRY), like a tennis match where i'm looking back and forth wildly between them to try to decide who is dealing out more emotional damage at this moment: oh god hailou—no wait it's haixia—nope definitely hailou—IT'S SO SO GOOD #dmbj

TL:
Using 甲狗文 (Oracle bone script, but the 骨which means bone is replaced with 狗 which means dog; how the Chinese fandom refers to Laogou's invented symbols) to write a ransom note

The Nine Gates Heads as a number chart! This was so fun to draw, and I'm happy they all came out so distinct ❤️

Feeling normal about #HeiHua today as usual. Ft #XieYuchen: collector of priceless antiques, ratty opera houses, and one (1) half feral dubiously socialized racoon. A normal collection for a nice and normal young man

💍 love is all… 💕

I commissioned @vebokkis.bsky.social for this gorgeous, stunning, #Yanxia wedding piece, and I could not be happier with the results. It’s so tender and sweet. Thank you for giving my boys the happiness they deserve. ❤️ #archivesthenanyangmystery #南部档案 #dmbj

How it's going

—npss, probably #dmbj

but i really do ask myself this tho, more and more, halfway through a reread. who is this guy really. tianzhen wuxie, barely surviving; guan gen, killing a thousand people; yucun's unassuming architect, running xilaimian with his friends. the adaptations give us one version, the novels another #dmbj

So incredibly happy with how this Zhang Qishan and Liu Youan piece turned out! Took less work than I estimated and turned out so much better than I thought it would!

but…how there can be sha hai 2? it's all over at the end of sha hai? the last scene is "let's hop in the car and drive to changbai to pick up xiaoge"? there's no more li cu! there's no more take down the wang clan! they did that! istg this franchise is packed floor to rafters with chucklefucks #dmbj

Approx. translation:

In the sea of sand an ancient corpse falls from the heavens, revealing the Wang family’s century-old conspiracy. Li Cu and Wu Xie join forces as the final battle begins. The highly anticipated sequel to Nanpai Sanshu’s Sand Sea series is coming soon—stay tuned!
