Ron Hogan is an example of someone
making the Dàoist teachings their own.

I think his translation of Ch. 43 speaks so clearly.
The Daoist concept of wu-wei ( non-doing) is
so important, and so difficult to hoist aboard.
Learning it though smooths out many of the bumps of life.

Text:
DaoDeJing 43
Ron Hogan

The softest force in the universe
can overcome the hardest of objects.
Something without substance
can pass through the space between atoms.

That's how I know
about the power of doing nothing.

The silent teachings
and the power of doing nothing
can only be understood
by a few people.

In general, the Dào part concerns fundamental ontology,
while the Dé part concerns cosmology, which,
in the DDJ includes the social & political orders,
since humans are a part of the natural world.

End of Ellen Chen p. 45 paraphrased.
Hope it made sense: I had to condense. 🤓😁

Ch 37 ended Pt 1 of the Dào Dé Jīng.
Pt 2: ch 38 starts tomorrow.
Today, revision on the title & chs:
The Chinese 道德經 is #DàoDéJīng
(new Pinyin romanization).
The Wade–Giles had Tao Te Ching (see Peking to Beijing).

TY for reading in early #Daoism with us. 🪷😁
