The Château Frontenac is a historic hotel and Quebec City's most famous landmark. It opened in 1893, according to municipal architectural records. It was designed by American architect Bruce Price for Canadian Pacific and named in honor of Louis de Buade, Count of Frontenac, a former governor of New France. It has been designated a National Historic Site of Canada since 1981. Built in the Château style, it draws inspiration from the châteaux of the Loire Valley. An architectural beauty!

Une merveille architecturale !The flag of Quebec City features a gold ship on a blue background with a silver crenellated border, inspired by the city's coat of arms.
The visual: An ancient ship sailing with full golden sails on a blue (azure) background, surrounded by a white (argent) serrated (crenellated) border.
The ship: It represents the *Don de Dieu*, the ship used by Samuel de Champlain when founding Quebec City in 1608.
The composition: The shield displays the same ship on water, surmounted by two crossed gold keys and a green maple leaf.
The crown: A stone mural crown tops the design, symbolizing a fortified city.
The motto: It reads "DON DE DIEU FERAY VALOIR," combining the ship's name with the determination of the people of Quebec City to succeed. Wonderful! =)

Magnifique ! =)
