#BarbaraCastle, the Labour MP for Blackburn, wrote in #Tribune on #ThisDayInHistory in 1955 about British atrocities in colonial #Kenya, where over 50,000 Kenyans were tortured and killed for resisting the #BritishEmpire in the #MauMauRebellion. Only about 100 whites were killed.

I've seen plenty of claims that the British Empire should be lauded for "fighting slavery".

That this is evil is not in doubt, that the #UK have an established track record & expertise of displacing whole people's from their culture, their lands & family linkages going back to the American founding fathers & underpinning the whole #BritishEmpire period whilst fragmented; it is undeniable.

The Iran War is way worse than the Vietnam War for the US.

The US is a dying empire. The US can't handle the pressure coming from Iran.
