Soma and EXE (or if you want to go by the fan's nickname of him, "Faker") meeting would be absolutely Legendary. Since these two are polar opposites of each other.

Soma accepted his role while EXE (to my knowledge) was going to thwart everything Lord X had going on

Soma isn't related to Yokubo? Then whos the father? Lord X?

What's Soma's deal with Yokubo anyways?

Oh god no. Soma was created similarly to how Lord X created EXE and the Guardians. In fact, Soma is THE only one that ZoZa created/birthed(?) that holds the Guardian title. This is because when he was created. He is meant to be ZoZa's fail-safe, backup...

GUARDIAN.

Soma has no relation to Lord X or any of the Guardians. And will not acknowledge Yokubo as his "Step Father". He thinks it's mediocre and pointless since he was only just created by ZoZa. The only thing Lord X did was give her a guiding hand on how to actually make one. And since this was ZoZa's first time creating anything at all, there were a few odd quirks that came with the creation of Soma and his vessel...

On the outside, nothing about him changed over the years, except for maybe his clothing, mostly his blinders he wears.

Soma sticks with the Hedgehog-like vessel due to ZoZa's nostalgia of the past. He was created not only as a backup but to be the guardian of "nostalgia". His current duty is keeping all of her memories safe and maintaining the realm's overall integrity...

He has many abilities and quirks that are identical to ZoZa's, which also includes his temperament, which he later corrected after an incident between him and Yokubo while he was visiting his half-brothers in Lord X's realm. Soma went out if his way on his own to change himself out of heavy self-discipline and strict rules, just like his creator...

This is why he seems to be "out of the picture" and on the sidelines observing most of the time, and why most of the overlords seem surprised when he makes an appearance outside of his duties. He usually never comes to visit without a valid reason.

If Soma had been successful with completely taking out Yokubo, he would of completely consumed his very essence, essentially permanently "deleting" him. No respawning/Cycling. Nothing. He would be gone-gone. That would have immediately resulted a lot of issues and pissed off Lord X indefinitely. He then will either;

1. try to absorb Soma and create a new Guardian to replace Yokubo.

If ZoZa manages to calm down Lord X enough;

2. he will instead demand ZoZa to give up one of her kids to replace Yokubo.

3. Get her to create him a new guardian to replace Yokubo.

4. This almost happened, but thanks to Theo and Oyasumi stalling Soma from finishing Yokubo off, it had given Soma just enough time to have clarity of the possible consequences that could have happened afterwards.

~In conclusion~

This is why his relationship with his younger brothers is so vital to him. Without them, he would have made a grave mistake.

P.s. The timeline around when this would have happened would have been when;

Oyasumi would be at the age of 11, Theo would have been 5. So by that technicality, Soma would have roughly been around his early twenties when this happened.

~OP's final comments~
I shall note how or WHY Yokubo got humbled by a young guardian at the time; this is due to the fact that Yokubo wasn't expecting Soma to throw hands at him at all. Yokubo mistook Soma's docile and respectful behavior as Soma being "weak and spineless". When in reality, Soma was simply respecting ZoZa's wishes.

Soma had the advantage and surprised Yokubo by clapping back with an unrelenting force.

Soma may have the title of a guardian, but he's actually more like an EXE, just like ZoZa and Lord X...

In conclusion...

Yokubo is not weak; he was simply caught off guard.
