Today we marked #999Day with a special flag-raising ceremony at Lys Kernow, joined by representatives from #Cornwall’s emergency services.

A huge thanks to all our emergency responders, including our firefighters and Tri-Service Safety Officers, for keeping our communities safe.

As part of #AirAmbulanceWeek I was delighted to join the team presenting our petition to Downing Street calling for 24/7 helipad access at hospitals. Such life saving work. #999Day

This summer we saw a worrying number of wildfires across Wales.

Firefighters attended these fires with professionalism, courage and commitment.

We all owe them a huge debt of gratitude.

But they need more than gratitude. They need more trained firefighters and adequate resources.
