Urban Symmetry.

I started with the iPhone’s editing tools, cropping the original photo and applying the Mono B&W filter. Then I opened the Layout app and used the same image four times, moving the images around until I was happy with the arrangement. After saving the result, I added a vignette in Snapseed.

Rock @rjrock.bsky.social have give us a beautiful photo for the #Postprocess #Abstract #ECK #Snapseed I just want to use the upperpart from the photo because this that gives me the feeling i could do something with it. More from what I have done in the Alt. Hope this will fits the theme 🙏

The origal photo from Rock was beautiful on it self. But I had some problems with the reflection in the windows and the man and bench in it.
So I have crop the photo to this part. It looks in the original photo that the windows are from steel. In Snapseed I have after that I have crop it playing with almost all the settings that Snapseed give me to play around. At least if give it this crunchy look so it looks abstract in my eyes. This was the third attempt on this photo. Let me know what I could do different.

Evening #BlueSky 🫖 Inspired by Brutalism mixed with a gothic cathedral aesthetic.

For challenge #PostProcess #Abstract & cross posting to #abstractia & their theme #gothic

Have a great rest of your day my freinds ☺️

What a gorgeous original Rock image to work with and thank you my friend for that, such a pleasure to edit from as they are always sooo detailed and highly zoom-able ☺️

This week, l really want to explain more of my thought process rather than the actual editing process if l may (it got crazy lol 😂)

My first thought was that the result has to be far removed from the original image to fit the abstract brief…but not too far.

But also l LOVE the cross posting element (which l hope happens again) as it adds an extra dimension to the edit.

So, in that regard l focused in on the gothic aesthetic first and l knew l wanted a monochromatic feel.

I seriously considered the water section of the original image but the building (once zoomed in) was so fascinating with the design and patterns, that it became my focus.

Gothic, reminds me of cathedrals (which Ireland has many) and the building had that wonderful brutalist vibe so l brought the two together.

Very much like the interior of the Church of Christ the Redeemer by Nicola and Leonardo Mosso and Livio Norzi in Turin, Italy.

As for the actual editing process…all done in Lightroom. To be completely honest l got lost in a creative whirlwind of crops, reversing, mirroring, colour reductions, lighting, highlighting, exposures, detail, clarity, vignetting etc etc lol 😂

But l did finish with my usual white border frame to tie it all together.

Photo taken by @rjrock.bsky.social & processed by me (brief process in alt)

I said last time we did #Abstract how it’s a form I’ve always struggled with, and this time was no exception…

Abstract (hopefully?!) photo of the reflection of a building in a puddle. It’s a small part of a larger photo of a precinct like area, there’s a large building in the background with cars and people on a nearby road reflected in its windows, a lone man is standing near the building, and a large puddle in the foreground shows a reflection of the building. The original photo was taken by @rjrock.bsky.social and was processed by me.

The image was edited in Darktable…

I cropped the image. Playing around with the crop tool for quite some time, I initially thought about a square crop, focussing only on the puddle. But having changed the crop aspect ratio on a whim, I actually liked having a little bit of the dry ground in the image.

Then, not knowing how to process the image, I ran through my somewhat extensive list of unfinished WIP styles (Darktable’s name for presets), eventually landing on my WIP CineStill 800T, because I liked the colours it gave in the puddle—It's actually been a long time since I touched it. The last time I did, I got in a right mood with it because try as I might, I couldn’t make it work.

At the minute, the preset:

Activates the Split-Toning module, adding red to the highlights.

Activates the RGB Curve module, giving the green and blue channels a gentle s curve, and the red channel a slightly more s-like s curve.

Then it removes the haze in the Haze Removal module—the purpose of this in the styles intended use is to lessen the light spill from light sources, thereby hopefully keeping the red glow more apparent.

Finally, it adds a light grain—because it’s attempting to emulate film.

For the #Abstract challenge, I took the original pic
and turned it into a beautiful colored glass base for a lamp,
in an upscale living room... Too fragile for my house ...

I turned the original photo on its side. Cropped off part of it. Removed a small portion... Then colored it many times, till I got the effect of an abstract glass base for a lamp... Be careful ... it's fragile ...

Here’s my attempt for #PostProcess #Abstract

A trendy piece of Op Art 😂

Original photo by @rjrock.bsky.social

Cropped original to tiny section of building on middle right of original pic. Added a colour wash and used the warp tool to distort the lines. All in Photoshop Express

For this #postprocess challenge on the theme #abstract I decided to keep only the bottom of the image.
Thanks to @rjrock.bsky.social for the original picture.
#eck #photography #blackandwhite

For this challenge I used the snapseed app with a preset in the 'noir' section.
