This is a trail five minutes from my cousin's place. I was grateful to be able to hang out there. Mushrooms were growing everywhere and didn't see another soul

Glad you like it. I fell in the creek for it 😂

Rolling Stones Gather Moss

Moss on every rock and a creek running through it in Spiegelau, Germany. A forest this green is hard to beat.

#EastCoastKin #Photography #Scape #ForestFriday #LandscapePhotography #Fuji #PhotographersofBlueSky #PhotographersUnited

A vertical view of a small creek running through a green mixed forest. In the foreground, large boulders covered in thick moss and lichen crowd the left side and bottom of the frame, with dark shadow pooling beneath them. The creek enters at the lower right and bends away into the distance, its surface smoothed to a silky blur, with a pale band of tumbling white water at the center. Tall slender trunks of birch, beech and conifer rise on both sides, their leaves and needles filling the upper frame in layered greens. Pink wildflowers bloom along the right bank, and a single orange leaf hangs near the upper right.

The stream is a long S-curve that leads the eye from the dark foreground rocks, past the bright cascade, and into the forest. The long exposure turns moving water into a calm, pale ribbon that contrasts with the rough, sharply detailed moss. The palette is almost entirely analogous greens, so the single orange leaf stands out as a small warm accent. The mood is quiet and enclosed, a small, close look at a forest that rewards slowing down.

Yeah. Special for sure

Thanks Robyn. The best part was just sitting on the ridge waiting for life to enter the frame.

Two of Us

Two riders on a quiet road in South Tyrol, the whole valley to themselves. The cows didn’t look up.

#EastCoastKin #Photography #ClassicMono #Scape #ColorADay #BWFri #ForestFriday #LandscapePhotography #Leica #PhotographersofBlueSky #PhotographersUnited

A black-and-white view across a wide alpine valley, seen from above a large open meadow. A narrow paved road curves in a long arc through the lower third of the frame. Two cyclists on mountain bikes ride side by side along it, small dark silhouettes left of center. Cows graze and rest across the meadow behind them, and a row of pale round hay bales sits in front of a cluster of dark wooden barns. Forested slopes rise on the right, dotted with steep-roofed farmhouses. On the left the valley recedes through ridgelines that fade into bright haze under a pale sky, with a faint contrail at upper left. The edge of a leafy tree enters at lower right.

A long S-curve of road carries the eye from the lower left to the small riders, then out across the meadow to the farm buildings and up the forested slope. The riders are tiny against the open field, which sets the scale of the valley and makes them the point the picture turns on. Side light rakes the grass and trees, giving the slope texture and deep shadow, while the receding ridges lose contrast with distance. The monochrome treatment reduces the scene to line, light and texture, and gives a working pastoral landscape a quiet, timeless character.

Amazing Graze

The Odle over Val di Funes, and a herd with the best seats in the valley. The graceful one up front just stared me.

#EastCoastKin #Photography #Scape #ForestFriday #LandscapePhotography #Fuji #PhotographersofBlueSky #PhotographersUnited #Dolomites

A steep alpine pasture fills the lower half of the frame, bright grass with small pale flowers scattered through it. Six brown-and-white cattle graze or rest on the slope. The nearest lies in the lower right, facing the camera, with a white face, pink nose and a rust-brown body patched with white. Behind the pasture, dark spruce and larch forest runs across the middle ground, broken by pale green meadows and a few wooden farmhouses with red and brown roofs. Beyond a forested ridge, a row of jagged pale grey limestone spires rises against a deep blue sky, clear except for one faint contrail, with bright white scree fans at their base.

The image is organized in three tiers: the foreground cow, the forest and farmland, and the peaks. That order carries the eye from the animal’s direct gaze up to the spires. Rust orange against blue sky and green grass is a complementary contrast, so the cattle advance and the mountains recede. Low, hard sunlight from one side rakes the rock faces and gives the limestone relief, while the pasture stays warm and flat. The effect is a working landscape set against geology on a much larger scale, with the cow, not the mountain, as the first point of contact.

Thank you to @rjrock.bsky.social for the #PostProcess challenge this week of #Reveal. The photo is from Tre Cime in the Dolomites. We decide what stays hidden and what comes forward.

Three's a Crowd

Oktoberfest in Munich. the whole midway was lit up while these three shared a moment. #EastCoastKin #Photography #HumansOfBlueSky #Leica #UrbanGaze #PhotographersofBlueSky #PhotographersUnited

A color photograph in portrait orientation, taken at dusk on a crowded fairground midway. In the lower left, three people walk away from the camera. Two young women stand side by side with their arms around each other, one in a navy dirndl, the other, with blonde hair, in a pale blue dirndl. A young man with curly hair, in a white shirt, dark leather shorts and black sneakers, leans in beside them and kisses the blonde woman’s hair. Beyond them a crowd fills the road, and a tall Ferris wheel lit in orange and red stands at upper left, with neon-lit stalls on both sides and a row of lampposts receding toward the horizon. The sky shifts from deep teal at the top to orange and pink at the skyline. The corners of the frame are slightly darkened.

The scene is built in layers: the group in the foreground, the crowd, the Ferris wheel and lampposts, and the sky. The teal sky and orange horizon are close to complementary, and the neon repeats the orange along the skyline. The pale blue dirndl closely matches the upper sky, which ties the figures into the evening light. The man’s white shirt is the brightest value in the lower half of the frame, so the eye lands on the kiss first. Seen from behind, the group has no faces, and the viewer joins the crowd walking behind them. Everyone else faces outward toward the midway, while the one gesture in the foreground is directed inward.

Rock @rjrock.bsky.social gives us a other photo for #Postprocess with the theme #Reveal #ECK. The photo Rock gives us was the Cime in the Dolomites. This edit does for sure not right to this stunning mountains. Suggestions what i can do better are welcome.

More in the Alt.

You see here a part from The Cime in the Dolomites. A photo Rock gives us to for editing in our way. What we would leave or hidden.
I have the app Snapseed for the editing. First i have crob the photo that have only the mountains and a little bit fore ground.Than I have almost all the tools Snapseed gives and play with it. From the three versions I have this comes more to what I wanted.i sky with some light and the mist around the tops from the mountain. So they stand dark at the sky. And the lines on the mountain on the right are lit up.

My #Reveal is to portray man's progress, or lack of it ...
in destroying our natural landscape.
Took out the mountain to become an ordinary airstrip.
A plane is taking off ... The majesty of the mountain is gone!...

#PostProcess original photo @rjrock.bsky.social

Took out the wonderful mountain in the original photo to show how man is destroying our natural beauty; in this case for an airstrip...
