#GenHour TFW you should be watching #AATP but the siren call of USA naturalization records pulls you away. I found the natz petitions I was looking for, and more, via FamilySearch's Full Text Search.

Greetings #GenHour! How's your week been? I've managed to miss most of #AATP but hope to catch up with some of the talks via recordings.

But I did make it to Jude's brilliant talk at the Society for #OnePlaceStudies which was utterly delightful!

Nifty stuff, Pam - have put it on the 'watch' list! I'm sure it'll be great, and v helpful for #AATP!

Look what happens when a GIS engineer starts hoovering up links to 18th and 19th-c documents and patent records. You get an interactive gold mine any #genealogist can explore.

And it's a wrap on today's program from #AATP as my guest Lisa Maguire of Ancestory.Substack.com. took us to the rocky shores of the St. Lawrence River in Quebec City in the 19th century. An incredible story.

#AncestryHour Greetings, all!

Various mishaps on my part have kept me away from #AATP but I hope I can see some of the presentations before they vanish.

How has your research been going?

@daisyabbott.bsky.socialOct 13, 2026, 12:36 PM

This will be screened tomorrow (Weds 14th Oct) for those interested.

I can pop onto the community and answer questions afterwards as well so please do post there if you've got feedback.

I'm catching up (and continuing) with #AATP this week with another banger from Linda Hammond about Mind Mapping, and an interesting look at visualizing ancestor movement using Excel's 3D Maps from Dr Sabine Abakayov.

I was delighted to take part in this year's #AATP – an event covering many days of free talks. I decided to talk about postcards (!) that reveal stories about WWI. This topic is covered in a full-length talk that I offer. All talks: sog.org.uk/learn/learni...

Collections & Archives: Accessing Materials at the David Rumsey Map Center

On this Day 6 of the All About That Place (AATP) series, I'm proud to welcome Laura Krueger, David Rumsey Map Center's Cartographic Metadata Librarian at Stanford University in Palo Alto, California. Laura manages and catalogs all cartographic materials at the Center. She also assists with curating the Center's remarkable online and on-site exhibits.

Since its opening in 2016, the David Rumsey Map Center has served as one of the most significant cartographic collections on the West Coast. Sitting at the intersection of technological advancement and historical materials, they house thousands of maps, atlases, and globes, as well as thousands of digital records, making them accessible to researchers across the world on our two wall-sized screens. If you aren't already familiar with the extraordinary online collection, please visit DavidRumsey.com/about to learn and explore.

Join the livestream in any browser or the Substack app by tapping this link

If you visit the page before the program begins, you'll see a button to add the program to your calendar. You can view the program using either your web browser or the Substack app. This program is free and open to everyone. Projectkin subscribers will also be notified via the platform once the program begins.

After the program ends, the link will redirect to a video post with the recording. This entire series will be available at Projectkin.org/aatp along with recordings from previous years’ programs.

My second talk for @sogorg.bsky.social #AATP is now live: "Some Victorian Parlour Games" - sog.org.uk/gold-library...

There's loads more to say about this topic and I'm thinking of developing it into a full-length talk at some point in the future!

There are so many talks to choose from for this year's #aatp2026 #aatp event. Here's my little contribution:
