No #U20WWC today, but there was some U20 #WoSo action yesterday that you probably missed, and it got exciting.

I'm talking about the final of the 2026 South American Games. They women's soccer portion of the tournament featured a 4-team, U20 competition.

The final featured Chile vs Venezuela. 🧵

With the #U20WWC underway, we’re grateful to have @kelynascimento.bsky.social on the pod with @shireenahmed.bsky.social to talk about the state of women’s football in Brazil in anticipation of next year’s WWC!

The Koreans have backed off a bit with their lead, and Colombia are getting a good amount of possession, but they haven’t crafted anything real dangerous.

Great save Agudelo!

Long ball over the top and Colombian defender misses header. Korean attack in 1v1. Shoots but Agudelo gets down quickly to tip wide of goal.

Colombia have had forays forward, but still not cohesive in attack. Both teams making subs.

Goal DPRK

Right out of the gate, a dangerous freekick played short & well-worked.

Korean player stopped down to head the low cross instead of kick it, but got a lot of power on the header. Agudelo got down, but ball hit off her body and up into the net.
