She strikes the earth
With blackthorn -
The same landscape,
A different season -
Erasing summer
And the burnished copper
Of autumn;
The land is her
#Palimpsest -
She herds the elements,
Writing these
Darkening days
With the glacial
Script of frost and ice.

Day 615: Woke up. Wrote a poem. Made some art. Pinned it to the Wall. #Palimpsest #vss365

Another poem musing on AI, also tagged for doom. The Great Unsloppening continues. Now at about 58%human art, covering last year’s slop like a palimpsest!

More Tomorrow. 🤖 💣 💾

Covering his tracks
the cheating man
tries to scrub his hard drive
of incriminating texts
with his sexy mistress

Alas,
this modern day #palimpsest
will retain original sin
and can be revived
when forensics are applied

A sledge hammer
to the damning evidence
still works best

children's handprints

from hundreds of thousands of years ago
so many, a #palimpsest background of layered color forms,
red, black, brown, white,
they hover over the rock as if waiting to be held,
you are so small, little one, I can fit you in the palm of my hand

Every night erases
The former day’s skies’
Masterpieces
So that we have to
Begin again

Every morning
Mercy’s new
Every day we can do
Something we didn’t do
Yesterday

Kingdom of the #palimpsest
A world built
On forgiveness
And realizing our
Impossible dreams

Reincarnation is like #palimpsest, physical memories washed away, each brain a blank scroll.
But my soul remembers.
On autumn days, something awakes. I trace my fingers over the pages inside, and feel the indentations of old words, rendered no less meaningful.

He hated the word “muddled” written on his chart. The nurses and doctors didn’t understand the gift he’d been given.

His mind had become a #palimpsest of sorts; old memories crashing through the surface, letting him experience those moments again.

The sea, the laughter.

Holding her hand.

'Why so suspicious? Gabe. I've always loved ancient arts. #Palimpsest is just my latest craze.'
'I've never heard such rubbish, Pixie. Your only interest is because I'm writing your annual assessment, & you hope to doctor it.'
'Ah well... can't blame a pixie for trying.'

There are many comic writers
Umberto Eco is one
His piece on pendulums was writerful
Had me laughing but also wondering
At what else was going on
Name of The Rose was about robed writers
Pages slicing lives like an MRI sandwich
Memories like Hannibal making
A pastrami palimpsest

.

reality is
no palimpsest

Her dog dug up a #palimpsest buried in her garden. It revealed secrets about the origins of Earth. It said Earth had been created by a giant dog who wanted to play Fetch. Her dog looked at her and then nodded solemnly.

Grandma's grimoire was nearly illegible. It was like a #palimpsest, half-erased lines overwritten with new scrawling script.

Zenith tried a necromancy spell, but only managed to summon a bowl of trail mix in her father's lap. Hours of work wasted on raisin the dad.

Scalded and scrubbed, I
drift to my bed,
Limp as the pillow
that cradles my head.

Plan not to dream.
Pray not to think.
A raw #palimpsest for
Tomorrow to ink.

You would hold me by the hand, but you never held it tight. When we spoke you would say the right words, but always say them over my shoulder. When you wrote your vows on #palimpsest, that should have been enough for me to say thank you, kiss your cheek and walk away. But of course, I didn't
