Somehow missed this announcement about Impossible Creatures when it came out
.and I am not sure how i feel about it.

On the one hand, it’s a lovely gesture but on the other hand, it feel tokenistic and unlikely to shift the dial on reading. Others?

Sounds perfect! I've got a full week of events booked (thirteen events over the five days) but it looks like I'll be lodging with some very fun people. And a good hotel breakfast is the food of the gods, frankly. #KidLitUK

What’s in the box?
My author copies of A Scrap of Moss & Magick, that’s what!
(Gloating over the beautiful cover by Melissa CastrillĂłn.)
Soon, children’ll be holding & reading copies, I can hardly believe it.
Thank you @dfbstoryhouse.bsky.social, the best publishers in the world!

A mysterious cardboard box on a wooden tabletop.Inside the cardboard box, scrumpled up paper packaging. A corner of something purple, pink and green poking out from underneath.Inside the box: books! Paperback copies of A Scrap of Moss and Magick by me. The title is in a full moon with a green country house in front of it. Below the house, woodland, a smoky cat, a magpie. The trees seem to grow from the green hair of a girl, the top part of whose face we can just see at the very bottom of the cover. Foliage everywhere.Me holding a copy of A Scrap of Moss and Magick and looking gleeful.

Happy book birthday to Lottie Saahko, whose children's novel Lumi & the Wolf is published today!

Lumi takes a white wolf on a journey across Lapland to save his life, learning to trust her autistic strengths to guide them both. Looks brilliant!
