im curious as to how the author came up with the idea and how to properly put it into action, how he used phonetics in this case and just how everything was constructed #hwa4 #yingleshiparty

It really does feel like a prank. Like how is this even real. Someone speaking a different language but they have so many words I can make out in English, it doesnt even make sense to me. #hwa4 #yingelishiparty

@chillmountaineer.bsky.socialOct 12, 2026, 3:29 AM

the question in a way that makes me feel as if they themselves understand what they are talking about. #hwa4 #understandingeffect

I think also that the word choice seems to convince me as the one being interviewed that the LLM understands what it is talking about on a semantic level, so I could see that as a form of impression management where it has to "perform" as someone who presents #hwa4 #understandingeffect

I tried over and over to understand what was being said in Yingelishi at first. I stopped trying to understand every sound and just listened in the end. After that, I paid more attention to the  rhythm #hwa4 #whatlisteningmakes

the cultural Chinese instruments complimented the rhythm very well unlike the bass that was previously played #hwa4 #yingleshiparty

The telephone section is for sure my favorite. The aggressive who is speaking and dont hang up just rang in my ears the right way. Plus I can make out the words. #hwa4 #yingelishiparty

@pinnedbytaida.bsky.socialOct 12, 2026, 3:27 AM

this is unlike any poem I have ever listened to, and for that has really broadened my interpretation of any translation of the sort when it comes to anything poetic #hwa4 #yingleshiparty

@jaredjunioryear.bsky.socialOct 12, 2026, 3:26 AM

The whole I just find myself reading the words on the screen and DEEPLY listening to try and catch every word I can. It feels like a game of cat and mouse. #hwa4 #yingelishiparty

"During a lecture, what external recording method do you use to compensate for information your memory may fail to retain?" I think the performance here is GPT pretending to understand how memory and that all humans use an "external recording method" to take notes. #hwa4 #understandingeffect

Ontological slippage is the moment when we stop describing ideas with logic and reason, and instead instantiate them into reality as a fact. This shows up in hanging with Ashley at the 37-minute mark. However, it shows up in my media thinking when I fail to be critical of what I ingest. #hwa4

I think ontological slippage is when the line between what something “is” starts getting messy. Translation does that because the original meaning can shift depending on who is hearing it, so theres always this gap between what was said and what ends up being understood. #hwa4 #wherethingsslip

I do not think something can mean something if you have absolutely no clue what it means. However, if you have some understanding it can. Like these poems, they fascinate me which in itself gives it meaning. #hwa4 #yingelishiparty

listening to this as a bilingual person myself is so interesting because I know it is probably a surreal experience for someone who is bilingual in specifically English and mandarin #hwa4 #yingleshiparty

@kaylak4t.bsky.socialOct 12, 2026, 3:24 AM

I wonder what it would be like to watch this with subtitles. Would writing down the words make the show less interesting, or would it make me pay more attention to something else? #hwa4 #yingelishiparty

@tharika313s.bsky.socialOct 12, 2026, 3:24 AM

Since SME 2 turns the fragment into a disrupted audio monologue, I could make the voice and the actual words slightly clash with each other. Yingelishi made me realize that confusion doesnt always ruin meaning, sometimes thats literally what makes you pay more attention. #hwa4 #whatlisteningmakes

@jaredjunioryear.bsky.socialOct 12, 2026, 3:24 AM

I feel like a witness. Like I am not included enough to be an avid enjoyer but im also not completely excluded. Very weird feeling. #hwa4 #yingelishiparty

Oh! We're back to normal now in the police station. This class and it's assignments honestly just continues to amaze me. #hwa4 #yingelishiparty

@tharika313s.bsky.socialOct 12, 2026, 3:23 AM

I think thats something I can use in SME 2 because the interview fragment doesnt just have to be read normally. I can mess with the pacing, pauses, repetition or the way the voice sounds so the audio is doing more than just repeating the words. #hwa4 #whatlisteningmakes

entering a moment where the English is starting to sound more clear and natural caught me off guard #hwa4 #yingleshiparty
