They're not random, and they're not variables.
Has got me thinking about flying lemurs...

Why I make my A-level students copy vast numbers of notes off the board
In this 20 post thread, I will explain why copying off the board is such a great idea and hope people will share this endlessly on each other’s timelines all day
PS buy my books
I saw this graph from @jburnmurdoch.ft.com on LinkedIn (posted without credit but the FT styling was a giveaway!).
A really interesting chart to discuss in #AlevelMaths, Core Maths or Data Science lessons.
Any other #ALevelMaths teachers also teach #ALevelStats?
#ALevelMaths - I’ve done both the further statistics and further mechanics AMSP course - they’re brilliant and I’ve got so much out of them. Grab a place before they go!
Honest question how do you encourage lazy year 13 students who actually doesn’t want to work 🤦🏻♀️
Are you teaching #ALevelMaths or #ALevelFurtherMaths this year??
We still have a few places on our fully funded longer-term CPD courses with study days around the country.
If you are in Leeds I'll be there this year talking statistics! 🤩

Could not be happier at what this question I wrote threw up as discussion points in today's lesson. Even better than I had hoped.

Supporting students with university applications, progression choices and admissions tests?
Next Steps for your A level Students helps teachers develop strategies to guide students beyond post-16 maths.
📅 Starts 7 Oct
🧠 Students interact with AI every day. Teach them the maths behind it.
Our blended course helps A level Maths teachers connect machine learning and AI to familiar curriculum content through practical activities, Desmos and Python.
Starts 14 Oct
Looking at a chat on here where people reported A-Level teaching hours in many different ways, I asked myself the question:
"Is teaching 90 minutes 3 times a week more teaching & LEARNING done than 1 hour 9 times fortnightly?"
For me, YES.
What is your opinion?
In #MathsToday, my year 13 #ALevelMaths tackled @draustinmaths.com match up activity for arc length and perimeter in radians. Nice little mix of problems to solve www.draustinmaths.com/a-level
In #MathsToday, Yr 2 #AlevelMaths had a go at Compose! from Underground Maths. Yr 1 started proof, with the challenge of producing a convincing argument without using algebra, before moving on to more formal proof by deduction.
In #MathsToday, a rare full day of teaching with 2 #ALevelMaths lessons and 2 #GCSEMaths resit lessons. Inverse trigonometric functions and an introduction to Modulus equations graphically for A Level and 2 different GCSE lessons; Solving Equations for one group and Fractions for the other.
This looks fab #ALevelMaths
