An excerpt from the Final Fantasy XIV fanfiction "The Letter" by EscaFox. Text: As the pair entered their house, the Shetona set about picking up scattered items and dusting off his work station. Uvlo's eyebrow rose and he walked forward to put a kind arm around the other man's waist. "Who are you, and what have you done with Master Shunye?" he asked wryly. "Hmm?" The apothecary's ears flitted about quickly but he allowed himself a moment to lean against the Veena's chest. "You never clean the house on your own volition. It was one of the first things I started helping out with around here when we first met, remember?" Uvlo fondly reminded him, happily thinking about the path they had since started to walk together.

"Don't you need sleep too?" Wyra asks as he flops down unceremoniously on the couch, as Y'shtola sets about heating up water in the kettle so that she may brew the medicine she brought into a tea. "Nonsense. There is work to be done," and before Wyra can protest, a knowing smile tugs at her lips. "And I might have had one too many cups of coffee for rest." "Ahh, I see, so it's fine when you do shit like that, but not when I do it," Wyra says, some of his Shaaloani accent poking through as he gives an exaggerated, toothy grin, which is promptly wiped off his face as Y'shtola gently pulls him to sit up and closes the space between them, as she puts the back of her hand against his too-hot forehead. His ears suddenly feel a bit too-hot as well. He's realizing he's never asked if she can see if someone blushes.
