One of the things that made the movie work was the bond between the Major and Batou. Everything from them on the boat to the climax and final act.

Section 9 is officially disbanded as the team goes out and tries to spread everything from what was done to the vaccine conspiracy. This allows us to see the Major and Batou shoot the shit...and it's one of the reasons all these adaptations are AWESOME. #GhostInTheShell #StandAloneComplex
