I joined my brother and nephews in Oaxactun, Guatemala, this past April (2026). My brother spent two years there a couple decades ago and wanted to share his Guatemalan community and his boys to meet.

This is a picture I took of one of the elder's cookfires. She seems both wise and knowledgeable. Her son is highly educated and has a good job an hour away in Tikal. They choose to live in this remote village.

Photo of a bowl-and-doily spider's web I took lying on the grass underneath the web with my phone camera. I think I may have set it on .6 magnification so I could capture the whole thing. I was trying to see what the spider's back looked like, but this shot just shows the interaction of gossamer and sun. There are fuzzy dark area showing the locations of the spider and captured creatures.

The second photo is not the sharpest one but just want to share it because I don't often see a egret and heron this close together in the Oostvaarders Plassen.

My happy place from a few weeks back ✨️

You see here my happy place the canal with the weeping willow on the left side and on the right side other trees and bushes. Some trees are turning in to there autumn dress. The sky is grey with a gape of blue. It makes the water almost looking brown in the photo.
