What do we do with the truth once we know it?
On #NDTR, a powerful message from today’s Yellowhead Institute gathering: learn the history, listen to Survivors, challenge denialism and protect the truth for generations to come.

On this Day of National Reconciliation, I would like to say
that we (white Canadians) have fucked Canada over for long enough. It’s time for #LandBack and power to the First Nations, Métis, and Inuit to protect our beautiful country.

#sketchoftheday: Drawn in 2021 after the unmarked grave discovery at the Kamloops Residential School. In solidarity, and with an abject rejection of denialism on this National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. #orangeshirtday #everychildmatters
Today, our team is wearing orange to honour survivors of residential schools, remember the children who never came home, and hold space for the families and communities who continue to carry these stories 🧡

September 30 is the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.
We honour the children who never returned home and the survivors of residential schools, and we commit to listening, learning, and reflecting.
Sept 30 is #OrangeShirtDay & #NationalDayforTruthAndReconciliation
This is a day for reflection, commemoration & sharing
People need to listen with open ears to the stories of survivors & their families & to remember those that did not make it home
We stand with
the Children;
the Survivors;
and the collective community
of Indigenous peoples
across this nation.
There is still yet
so much
to do.

Today, we honour the sixth

by sharing photos of a home on a highway that paints an important picture.
Orange hearts speckle the home’s
surrounding fence with three words,
“ #EveryChildMatters .”
Reconciliation requires an ongoing commitment to action. As your Member of Parliament, I remain committed to working alongside Indigenous Peoples to advance justice, healing, and a better future for generations to come.
Today was exceptionally special!
Being back in Queens County, where I grew up, surrounded by a sea of orange in Liverpool for the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation was incredibly meaningful.

🧡 Today I’m remembering the lessons of the ceremonies I’ve attended across #Lanark #Frontenac. Reconciliation means listening when it is difficult, learning each day, remembering & carrying those lessons forward. (see full post at www.facebook.com/share/p/19c6cKcCyW/) #EveryChildMatters
Today we honour residential school Survivors, remember the children who never returned home, and reflect on the lasting impact of the residential school system on Indigenous families and communities.
Every Child Matters. 🧡
